Feeding Thy Soul – Path to Salvation

Is there more to life than the physical world around us?

Is it natural instinct that leads us to seek spiritual realities.

Every culture throughout history has followed some form of religion and had a belief in a life beyond physical life.

Christianity gives humanity their greatest asset – Faith in God and Jesus Christ!

The Great Commission

Jesus Christ commanded His Apostles, in “The Great Commission,” to spread the Christian message and to convert all people to Christianity.

Spiritual life encourages evangelism, service in the Church and charity, to spread the sacred relationship of every individual with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Spiritual Fulfillment

Physical life is temporary.

All things come to an end.

Spiritual fulfillment is about people who are conscious of their spiritual needs.

Jesus said: “Man does not live on bread alone (the physical) but, God’s Word (the spiritual).

Spiritual health is achieved when we begin to understand the importance of the body, mind and soul and how they work together to build our overall wellbeing.

*A healthy body keeps you well and active.

*A healthy mind is the individual’s faculty for thinking, reasoning, and making choices through positive thoughts and wholesome values.

*A healthy soul that is looking towards an eternal future, keeps you fulfilled and content.

Spiritual goals “nourish the soul,” with love for God and your fellow human.

God’s Laws of Life:

*Guide us to pursue those things that are true, wholesome and good.

*Helps to overcome fears and worries by illuminating our path throughout life.

*Provides peace of mind and comfort as we look for our eternal salvation in the everlasting, Heavenly, Kingdom of God.

Spiritual Soul

*God is an Eternal Spirit

*Heaven is an Eternal, Spiritual World

*We cannot see the soul of a human being

The soul is the link between the physical body and the spiritual self.

It consists of your mind, character, thoughts, and feelings.

A beautiful soul is someone with a kind, giving nature who extends empathy and goodwill to their fellow human being.

Feeding Thy Soul

God’s Spirit within enables us to seek spiritual realities.

We spiritually feed our soul by going to church to hear the Voice of God through Liturgy and the Sacraments and to find Jesus the Good Shepherd, Who leads His flock to greener pastures.

Our spiritual eyes enable us to “see” Christ within.

“Empty Soul”

Since the Enlightenment (Intellectual movement of the late 17th and 18th centuries emphasizing reason and individualism) man has been gradually moving away from God.

The “spiritual poor” are separated from God and His spiritual assets.

They do not believe in the existence of a higher, Spiritual Force of any kind.

Their beliefs are based in science and the theory of evolution.

For the atheist, there is “no hope” in God’s Heavenly Kingdom because they believe that life reaches a dead-end.

An “empty soul” does not have the “Fear of God” in their hearts.

The Fear of God reminds us that:

*All actions have consequences.

*We are accountable to Someone.

That Someone is God!

The Fear of God:

*Saves us from falling into sinful ways.

*Leads people to become responsible for their lives.

Spiritual Awakening

Spiritual enlightenment means being “awakened” to spiritual realities.

It examines beliefs and expands the mind to a new-found awareness of spiritual realities beyond the physical senses.

Jesus Christ says, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

The spiritual soul speaks through the images and senses of God’s wonderful Creations.

Just look around, above and beyond.

It speaks through spiritual thoughts that fill the mind with beauty and contentment.

When we are spiritually healthy, we feel more connected to God and to those around us.

Our actions become more consistent with our beliefs and values.

Spiritual values encompass all that is good, moral and wholesome to guide us from wrongs that may cause harm.

True joy and comfort can only be experienced through faith to Someone bigger than ourselves.

Salvation

Forgiveness and repentance opens the spiritual door to gain God’s Gift of Salvation.

Redemption is defined as the act of correcting past wrongs to gain forgiveness.

Salvation is defined as being saved from sin and its consequences.

This means turning away from sinful ways (repentance), turning to God (faith) and placing our trust in Jesus Christ.

As Christians who understand what follows this physical life it gives us comfort as we look to God and Jesus Christ for our salvation to an everlasting life in the Heavenly Kingdom of God
