The Holy Spirit from The Beginning to The End

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, let there be light: and there was light.” (Genesis 1: 1-3) God spoke it and the Holy Spirit did it!

Who is the Holy Spirit?

Hello, my name is the Holy Spirit. I am a real person who came to reside within true believers/followers of Jesus Christ after Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to heaven.

I am who Jesus spoke about in Acts 2: 1-4, when He told His Apostles…”I will ask the Father, (Who is the God-Head) and He will give you another Helper that He may be with you forever.” I am the Spirit of Truth, whom the world can not receive because it does not behold Me or know Me, but you, the believer will know Me (The Holy Spirit) because I abide with you and will be in you.

Please understand that I (Holy Spirit) am not vague, I am not a shadow on a person, nor am I impersonal. I am a person equal in every way with God, The Father and God, The Son. I am the third member of the God-Head: God-The Father, God-The Son, and God-The Holy Spirit and all of the divine attributes that are credited to the Father and the Son are equally credited to Me also. We have infinite knowledge, infinite justice, infinite love, we agree on everything. We never argue. When a person becomes born-again by believing and receiving Jesus Christ, God resides in that person through Me. The Holy Spirit, I have intellect (1 Cor: 2:11), emotion (Rom. 15:30) and will (1 Cor 12:11).

My primary role is to bear “witness” of Jesus Christ (John 15:26, 16:14. I tell people’s hearts about the truth of Jesus Christ. I am also a Christian’s teacher (1 Cor. 2: 9-14) who reveals God’s will and God’s truth to a Christian. As it is written in John 14:26: “But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

I am a Holy Person who comes to dwell in your heart, one who knows fully every act you perform, every word you speak, and every thought you entertain.

When did I come to earth to live inside of you? I came after the ascension of Jesus Christ, “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they (the disciples) were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Acts 2:1-4

The Holy Spirit at work in Believers:

I was sent to live inside those who believe in Jesus, in order to produce God’s character in the life of a believer; in a way that you can not do on your own. You need Me (The Holy Spirit) to build and establish into your life love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are the Fruit of the Spirit. You can not produce these qualities without Me. I must teach them to you and develop them in you. Therefore, without Me (The Holy Spirit) dwelling inside of you; you are walking in darkness. As Christians you must walk in the Spirit and be filled with the Spirit (Eph 5:18) And then I, the Holy Spirit will empower you to perform duties in ministering the will of God-The Father that promotes spiritual growth among Christians.

Listen, I (The Holy Spirit) also performs a function for non-Christians as well. I convict people’s hearts of God’s truth concerning how sinful they are-how they need God’s forgiveness; how righteous Jesus is and the judgment of God. The Holy Spirit jugs on the heart and mind asking one to repent and turn to God for forgiveness and a new life.

I am all presence, all knowing and is eternal. I am the Truth. I come from God and I am sent by God and Christ, for I am God-The Holy Spirit.

How to receive Me (The Holy Spirit)

“The Redeemer will come to Zion, and to those who turn from transgression in Jacob, ‘says the Lord.’ ‘as for me’ says the Lord, “This is my covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you and my words which I have in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendant’s descendants’ says the Lord, from this time and forevermore.” Isaiah 32: 14-17

Therefore, once you choose to follow Christ; He will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. He will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh then He will put His Spirit with in you and cause you to walk in His statues, and you will keep His commandments and obey them (Ezekiel 36: 26-27). And after you receive Me (The Holy Spirit), you will not have a spirit of fear but you will receive a spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) Christians receive power through the Holy Spirit.

Worldly might (strength) is insignificant compared with the power of God’s Spirit. These are the words of God to Zerubbabel: “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6) Zerubbabel was not to be concerned that his own strength was small in building the temple but to know that God’s strength would enable him to finish building the temple!

The Holy Spirit is available to all through Christ. As Peter said in Acts 2:38-39: “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” For everyone who asks will receive, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

May the Lord add many blessings to the readers and doers of His Holy Word
