Here and there in the Bible, God’s word or revelations to man, we are informed of God’s promise, gift or placement of His Spirit in the hearts of men, especially those that fear and obey Him and His word, and those who believe in and receive His Son Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour (Ezekiel 36:27; 37:14; Isaiah 44:3; Joel 2:28:29; John 7:37-39; Acts 1:8; 2:38-39; Romans 8:9-11; 14-16; Galatians 4:6; 1 Thessalonians 4:8; 2 Timothy 1:1-4; etc).
Like we have seen, this promised and given Spirit of God is said to be or dwelling in the hearts of the recipients, and is supposed to energize or enable them to do things beyond the natural or physical abilities (Acts 1:8; Luke 24:49; Acts 10:38; John 20:21-23). Now, to the physical or natural eyes or person, this Spirit of God in the heart of a person does not appear to be real or true, because He is not readily seen and there are no physical signs of His presence in the heart, yet His presence in the heart is as real as anything.
To see the presence of the Spirit of God in the heart of a person translate into a physical reality, there is need for faith and actions of faith (Hebrews 11:6). When the presence of the Spirit is believed and acted upon, He will act or do things that prove the reality of His presence in a person or place (cons. Luke 4:16-21, 33-35, 38-41; Acts 1:8; 2:4; 3:6-8; 13:9-11; etc). In other words, to receive the Spirit of God into the heart of a person, operate in His power or enjoy the benefits, there must be faith and action of faith as shown above, and that is how the spiritual reality translates into physical reality.
Today, if there are those who fear and obey God and His words, who have believed in and received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and who hunger and thirst for the Spirit of God in their hearts, to enable them do things beyond their natural and physical abilities to the glory of God or enjoy the benefits of His presence, such people can ask God to pour or place His Spirit into their hearts. After asking, they must believe that He has been poured, given or placed into their hearts. They must also thank God for giving them His Spirit and begin to take actions or do things with faith, or trust in the presence of God’s Spirit in their hearts, expecting supernatural manifestations, acts or results.
